"SEX WORKERS"- Are the days of forced prostitution long gone?
Its proving very hard to establish reality from the perception of reality the media draws upon.
Two years ago channel 4 continually broad casted documentaries on the increase of prostitutes and their middle Eastern European pimp of a boyfriend on the London streets. They showed footage and convincing interviews of forced prostitution, rape and even called it "modern day slavery".
Last week, channel 4's documentary "Working as an Escort" depicted strong, independent and English speaking women on how much they enjoyed their chosen carrier.
Surely its not the same work description; Or is it possible that when a quick money making scheme is frowned upon they blame it on the foreigners, immigrants and non-English speakers but when a sexy spin is given to the "escort business" by the TV series "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" staring Billy Piper the credit goes to the English.

Hi. I think there are some good things on your blog - I like the way you use visuals and experiment with headings. I think the ideas are quite strong - but you need to take more care with your writing. You need to proof read your work online as carefully as when you're working in print. Remember you can edit/correct posts after they've b been published.
I think the idea for this post is good but needs more work. You're right - the media presents lots of different images of prostitution - some that stress the exploitative side of it all, some that focus on women who have chosen it as a career, some that have very little connection to reality (e.g. the Billie Piper series). You're right to point out the xenophobia that sometimes underlies attacks on the sex trade - it's always foreigners who are doing the exploiting. Overall, some good ideas but you need to work more to develop this into a coherent take on the subject. You should also try to add relevant links if you can. Remember to break up long paragraphs online and add line spaces to help people read more easily.
In general, think about ways to personalise your blog - you could add lists of interesting links in the sidebar or feeds of relevant news stories.
When it comes to the assessment blog, think about how it will look to people when they first log on - they need to know what your blog is about. So think about ways to use the header, or ways to put content in the sidebar to help them get the point.
